Every month, the West Side Bazaar hosts Bartending for a Cause, a community-driven series that partners with local non-profits. This peer-to-peer fundraising event features a guest bartender from the organization, with all tips directly supporting their mission.

Founded in 1995 with 29 gardens as Garden Walk Buffalo, Gardens Buffalo Niagara has grown into a citywide movement promoting more than 500 gardens annually through events, grants, and tours. GBN works to empower vibrant, equitable, and environmentally sustainable communities by sharing gardens that inspire artistic, cultural, and social connection

Map and free raffle ticket for hanging basket drawings are available at the Concord Town Hall, 86 Franklin Street, Springville, NY 14141. We will again be offering our member donated plant sale behind the welcome table. Held rain or shine.

We have participants from the village of Springville and several in close proximity to the village. The gardens include interesting features such as water gardens and fish ponds, beautiful container gardens, and well planned garden spaces, one of which is a “food forest “including pawpaw trees. Several are on historical properties with perennial, rose and herb gardens. Be sure to visit the Art’s Cafe and their Roof Top Garden which not only cools the building but also provides organics for the cafe and a unique view of downtown. Check out the several manicured and creative vegetable gardens. Visit our major sponsor, Chevalier outdoor living, with their growing collection of unique trees, raised beds and hidden garden art. Treat yourself to a taste of their brick oven pizza served from Noon to 3 PM. Most gardens are handicapped accessible and all gardens close at 4 PM. You won’t be disappointed.

Join us at the Bazaar with Gardens Buffalo Niagara for a free community event to kick off your spring and summer gardening adventures!


Welcome/Allowed items are as follows:
-Seeds (labeled if possible with plant name, year, and source)
-Clean pots & containers
-Garden tools (must be washed and soil-free)
-Unused or gently used garden supplies
-Gloves
-Stakes/trellises
-Plant labels
-Watering cans
-Bulbs, tubers, and bare-root plants (disease-free and clearly labeled)
Plants & Soil Safety Requirements:
-Healthy plants & divisions (houseplants, perennials, vegetables, herbs) in 4” pots are smaller
-All plants should be visually checked for pests and disease. Check soil for jumping worms
-Use clean, bagged, or sterile soil whenever possible
-Label plants if you know the variety and care needs

Not Allowed:
-Any plants, soil, or supplies with jumping worms or suspected jumping worm activity
-Invasive species, check our website for a detailed list.
-Diseased, pest-infested, or unhealthy plants
-Pesticides, herbicides, or chemicals (open or partially used)
-Dirty tools or pots with visible soil or residue
-Unknown or unlabeled seeds/plants that may spread aggressively

Green Drinks International describes our meetups in the following way: Every month people who work in the environmental field meet up at informal sessions known as Green Drinks. We have a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and business. Come along and you'll be made welcome. Just say, "are you green?" and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there. It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organizing network.

These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. It's a force for the good and we'd like to help it spread to other cities.

The East Side Garden Walk, begun in 2018, encourages visitors and neighbors to walk, drive, or bike Buffalo’s East Side, learning about the creativity of this community. Visitors meet its gracious gardeners, experience its historic neighborhoods and wide-ranging architecture.

The 100+ featured gardens are an eclectic mix of private homes, community gardens—even some urban farms—with participating gardeners ranging from school children helping in outdoor classrooms gardens to senior citizens, and everyone between. The Walk encourages community revitalization and the beautification of the East Side one neighbor at a time. Equally important are the conversations among gardeners and visitors that bridge notions of differences.

Gardens Buffalo Niagara brings together conservation organizations from throughout the region. It’s known that gardening benefits humans. Research informs gardening also supports environmental health, sustainability, and natural harmony in the face of climate change. 

The event includes a butterfly release by Eastern Monarch Butterfly Farm at 11:30am. Butterfly releases are always joyful and affirming – bring the kids and whomever needs their spirits lifted!

Learn about local wildlife, birds, pollinators, soil health, composting, and more. There will be something for everyone, including activities for children.

HOURS: 8am-1pm, rain or shine. Butterfly Release at 11:30 a.m.

DAYS: Thursdays and Fridays in July. Gardens and schedules vary each year, make sure to find current year guide book.

HOURS: Vary according to gardener’s preference. All open hours and days are listed in the Open Gardens Guide. Look for an Open Gardens sign to indicate a garden is open for visiting. If there is no sign, there is most likely an unforeseen reason for the garden to be closed. Please do not enter a garden without a sign.

GUIDES: $15. 2025 Guide will be available in Spring 2025, online and at select garden centers and shops.

Springville-Concord Garden Walk

Community participants enjoy this chance to display and share their beautiful garden spaces and designs including a food forest with pawpaw trees, a roof garden, children’s garden, unique vegetable gardens, and heirloom gardens, to name a few. We have several new gardens every year.

Pick up the booklet with a map at our information center on the side lawn of the Concord Town Hall located at 86 Franklin St., Springville, 14141. Hanging baskets are raffled at 11 AM, 1 PM and 3 PM. Tickets are free and can be obtained at our welcome table. Check out our popular member-shared plant sale on the lawn. Our major sponsor, Chevalier Outdoor Living, not only has beautiful gardens, but offers a taste of the artisan pizzas from their brick oven.
