DAYS: Thursdays and Fridays in July. Gardens and schedules vary each year, so be sure to check the current year’s Open Gardens Guide.

HOURS: Vary according to gardener’s preference. All open hours and days are listed in the Open Gardens Guide. Look for an Open Gardens sign to indicate a garden is open for visiting. If there is no sign, there is most likely an unforeseen reason for the garden to be closed. Please do not enter a garden without a sign.

About The Tour of Open Gardens

Attention garden enthusiasts! Grab your Tours of Open Gardens Guide and prepare for the ultimate summer adventure. Garden touring has become the perfect escape for those seeking tranquil, beautiful days outdoors.

These horticultural sanctuaries offer stunning visual displays without the crowds, and passionate gardeners are ready to share their knowledge and answer your questions. The featured gardens are wonderfully spacious, spanning Erie and Niagara counties, with each garden opening its gates at least three times throughout July.

The Guide is designed with your convenience in mind. Inside, you’ll find:

Open Gardens Spring Weekend: Saturday & Sunday, May 16 & 17

This brand-new tour lets you visit 16 beautiful gardens across Buffalo Niagara—and see them in full spring bloom.

Your Open Gardens Guide is your ticket into the 16 Spring Weekend gardens. Consult the Guide for opening and closing times. Some open at 10 am, others at noon. All are open to at least 4 pm. The Guide also gets you into nearly 90 gardens throughout Buffalo Niagara on Thursdays and Fridays in July.

It also includes access to a brand-new closing event: Night Lights, a special evening garden tour on Friday, July 31.

Interested in being an Open Gardener? Applications must be submitted by August 1 the year prior to joining the tour. The process involves a brief application and a visit by our Open Gardens team members. The application period for 2026 closed on August 1, 2025.
